The h.m.s.d. was inspired by the electric meters found on the sides of houses. Specifically, the use of various small faces, each measuring something unique, that when seen together represent a greater quantity.The four faces on the h.m.s.d. tell, from left to right, the hours, minutes, seconds and date as is indicated by the lettering on the hands. The aesthetic of the watch is meant to be simple and mature though slightly playful.
